Unisys Selects Fortinet as Partner for Outsourced Enterprise Security Services
July 2007

Fortinet’s FortiGate™ multi-threat security systems will be used as both supported premise equipment and operational infrastructure in the Unisys Managed Security Services, which deliver outsourced firewall, antivirus, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), Web content filtering and antispam solutions to enterprise clients worldwide.

Under the agreement, Unisys will resell Fortinet’s enterprise and high-end security systems – from the FortiGate-50 to the FortiGate-5000 Series – to its customers and manage all outsourcing requirements for firewall, antivirus, IPS, Web content filtering and anti-spam functions. Unisys also will support the FortiGate products for its customers, including subscription services and 24-hour replacement services, which are essential for fulfilling the requirements of high-end customers.

Unisys evaluated several options before deciding to partner with Fortinet, including solutions from various “point” security vendors and other unified threat management vendors. The Unisys team found that its customers’ needs could be addressed most effectively with Fortinet’s FortiGate high-performance, scalable multi-threat security appliances. As a result, Unisys has added Fortinet solutions to its select list of outsourced network security offerings for enterprise customers.

Fortinet’s FortiGate multi-threat security appliances integrate essential security applications and services - including anti-virus, firewall, VPN, intrusion prevention (IPS), anti-spam, anti-spyware, Web filtering and traffic shaping – into a purpose-built platform, to provide superior protection capabilities and deployment flexibility while reducing the operational burden and costs compared to managing multiple point solutions.

FortiGate-5000 chassis-based security systems are the industry’s first security solutions to comply with the Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture (ATCA) standard for next generation of carrier grade communications equipment. Mobile operators, telecommunication carriers, service providers and large enterprise customers can configure FortiGate-5000 systems in a variety of ways to offer unmatched performance, reliability, scalability and security. All FortiGate systems are kept up to date automatically by Fortinet’s FortiGuard™ subscription services, which provide continuous updates to help protect against the latest viruses, worms, Trojans, and other threats - around the clock, and around the world.
