Microsoft launchesForefront Security for Exchange Server SP1 Beta 2

Microsoft launches Beta 2 for Forefront Security for Exchange Server SP1. This announcement coincides with the unveiling of Exchange Server 2007 SP1 Beta 2.Forefront Security for Exchange Server SP1 provides support for Server 2007 SP1 and Windows Server 2008, as well as content filtering and manageability enhancements.

These enhancements include:
- Seamless support for organizations running IPv6
- Improved content filtering with installable keyword lists that can be used to eliminate email containing profanity in eleven supported languages, including English, German, French, Japanese, Italian, Spanish, Korean, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Portuguese (Brazil), and Russian.
- Improved integration with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager through new health monitoring logs and alerts that allow administrators to proactively monitor the state of their Exchange 2007 protection. o Increased flexibility for scanning or blocking high compression zip files and RAR archives.

Just over a year ago, Microsoft launched its Forefront brand of business security and access products, and since that time has delivered on an ambitious roadmap and on its customer commitment to make security products more comprehensive, simplified, and integrated.

Microsoft continues to deliver on this ambitious security product roadmap with the release of Forefront Security for Exchange Server SP1 Beta 2. Microsoft Forefront Security for Exchange Server includes multiple scan engines from industry-leading security firms integrated in a single solution to help businesses protect their Exchange messaging environments from viruses, worms, and spam. Industry-leading antivirus engines include the Microsoft Anti-malware engine. Current engine partners include Norman, Sophos, CA, Kaspersky, Authentium, VirusBuster, and AhnLab. This product is the latest version of the product formerly known as Antigen for Exchange, acquired by Microsoft in the 2005 acquisition of Sybari Software.

Exchange Server 2007 SP1 features enhancements such as support for Windows Server® 2008, enhanced integration with Microsoft® Office Communications Server 2007, and improved mobile device management and advanced security technology.
