DELL & RED HAT JBOSS-BASED Solutions offer migration from legacy applications

Dell delivered a way for customers to migrate from costly legacy application infrastructures. The availability of Red Hat operating platform and middleware solutions on Dell PowerEdge™ servers, gives customers enhanced interoperability.

The complete open source solutions are available directly from Dell and provide customers with the opportunity to replace legacy application infrastructures with Red Hat’s leading open source middleware solutions. Customers also have the flexibility to choose a Windows or Linux operating system, whichever fits best within their environment. The combined solutions enhance cross-platform interoperability and provide the affordable, flexible benefits of open source solutions.

The Dell/Red Hat solutions combine standards-based servers from Dell with the customer’s choice of the JBoss Enterprise Application Platform or the Red Hat Application Stack, which includes Red Hat Enterprise Linux, JBoss Enterprise Application Platform and MySQL. Each solution delivers easy cross-platform interoperability that provides customers the flexibility to customize their solutions to fit specific needs.

The Dell/Red Hat offering currently features three individual solutions:
• JBoss Enterprise Application Platform Solution – This solution combines the JBoss Application Server, Hibernate and JBoss Seam with Dell hardware in combination with the best Linux or Windows operating system for the customer. It makes it easy to develop, deploy and manage enterprise Java applications on any operating system, while still remaining flexible and affordable.
• Web Application Solution – This solution combines the Red Hat Application Stack, including the JBoss Enterprise Application Platform and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, with Dell hardware. It is ideal for running Java or LAMP applications and provides the benefit of a simple, integrated solution for customers that are already running an open source operating system with legacy proprietary middleware, or for customers looking to deploy multiple open source solutions into their environment.
• Web Edge Solution – Combining Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Dell hardware, this solution is aimed at customers looking to take advantage of the open source operating system for activities such as Web serving with Apache.
