BMC Software acquires RealOps
July 2007

BMC Software announced that it has completed the acquisition of RealOps, a provider of run book automation solutions.

The acquisition will:

- Extend BMC’s Business Service Management and IT Process Automation development

- Create a unique, all-in-one service management solution that integrates diverse multi-vendor technologies while accelerating the automation and execution of critical IT operations

- Enhance service availability, minimize service interruptions and accelerate problem analysis and resolution

RealOps complements and extends the industry BMC Remedy IT process automation platform. The combination of RealOps’s run book automation solution and BMC’s industry Atrium Configuration Management database (CMDB) enables IT organizations to integrate and automate operational activities across a number of IT management functions. The combined solution also provides a level of intelligent automation that enables IT organizations to better prioritize their operational responses.
