Arbor Networks, Inc., a provider of network security and operational performance for global business networks, announced the appointment of Colin Doherty as the company’s senior vice president of worldwide sales. A seasoned telecommunications sales executive, Doherty joins Arbor Networks to further extend the company’s presence on a global scale within the service provider and enterprise markets. The company currently generates more than forty percent of revenue from international markets.

Doherty brings more than 20 years of global telecommunications experience in Sales, Marketing and General Management in Europe, Latin America, Asia, the Caribbean and the U.S. Prior to joining Arbor Networks, Doherty held multiple sales and management positions with Nortel Networks and NMS Communications. Most recently, Doherty was President and Chief Executive Officer of Mangrove Systems – a venture backed start-up in the wireless market – where he successfully reshaped the market strategy and management team; developed and launched the company’s first saleable product; secured initial product sales and ultimately completed the sale of the company to a public entity.

Arbor’s solutions are built upon the Peakflow platform, an architecture for network-wide data collection, analysis and anomaly detection. The Peakflow platform leverages flow data to provide network-wide visibility and anomaly detection by determining what’s “normal” on the network and then alerting network and security managers to abnormalities as they occur. Arbor Networks provides solutions for both service providers and enterprises with Peakflow SP and Peakflow X products, respectively.
